Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated Ayurvedic Hospital in Majuli, Assam on 7 October 2023. 6 new Ayush hospitals, 100 Ayush dispensaries and 200 Ayush Health & Wellness Centres in Assam soon: Sarbananda Sonowal.

The inauguration of 50 Ayurvedic hospitals at Sriram Chapori in Majuli was presided over by Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of Ayush, Ports, Transport and Water. This important development aims to strengthen the Ayush healthcare system in the state.

The new hospital has special OPD services for Shalya (general medicine), Prastuti Tantra & Stree Roga or PTSR (obstetrics and gynecology), Panchakarma and Kayachikitsa (general medicine). Additionally, the newly opened hospital also has a modern laboratory, Panchakarma & Ksharasutra therapy, yoga department, anorectal clinic, fertility clinic, geriatrics and rejuvenation clinic, rheumatology clinic, lifestyle disorders clinic and skin and cosmetics clinic. available. 50 patients will be treated at the same time in the
OPD unit. Speaking on the occasion, Sarbananda Sonowal said, "Majuli has great potential to become the hub of Ayush medicine in the region. Our beautiful Majuli, with its rich flora and heritage, has a unique potential to become a center of life. These Ayurvedic hospitals provide healthcare services to the local community." Supporting the vision of 'Swastha Bharat', it could be the cornerstone of Majuli becoming a regional Ayush hub 'Ayush Hospitals in Assam. Among these, four hospitals with 50 beds each will be established in Diphu. There will be 30 hospitals, 10 hospitals and Bajali hospital.

Apart from this, Union Minister Ayush also 289 Ayush Health & Wellness center in the state of Assam. Also, 200 AHWCs will be added to work in Assam soon. Chief Minister Sonowal also announced plans to set up 100 Ayush clinics in all districts of Assam.
